Data Collection

We want to be crystal clear: Lumina Journal does not collect any personal information or data from you. All your journal entries and content are stored locally on your device by default. Premium users have the option to sync their data using Apple's CloudKit service.

What We DON'T Do:

  • We don't track your usage
  • We don't collect analytics
  • We don't read your journal entries
  • We don't sell or share any data
  • We don't display advertisements

Data Usage

What is Stored Locally

All your data remains on your device by default:

  • Journal entries and notes
  • Photos and attachments
  • Mood tracking data
  • Vision boards
  • App preferences and settings

CloudKit Sync (Premium Feature)

Premium users can choose to sync their data using Apple's CloudKit:

  • Optional iCloud sync for premium users
  • Data is encrypted in transit and at rest
  • Sync is end-to-end encrypted
  • You can disable sync at any time
  • Data is only stored on your personal iCloud account

How Your Data is Protected

  • Encryption: All data is encrypted using industry-standard encryption
  • Biometric Lock: Face ID/Touch ID protection available
  • Privacy Screen: Automatic blur when app is in background
  • Local First: Data stored locally by default
  • Secure Sync: CloudKit sync uses Apple's end-to-end encryption

Data Storage

Your journal entries and data are stored locally on your device by default. Premium users have the option to sync their data using Apple's CloudKit service.

Important: Your data is encrypted on your device. We cannot access your data - it remains private and secure on your device. When using CloudKit sync, your data is also encrypted in transit and at rest using Apple's end-to-end encryption.

Data Sharing

Lumina Journal does not share any data with third parties. Your data remains private and confidential.

Your Rights

You have complete control over your data:

  • Access: View all your data anytime in the app
  • Export: Export your journal in various formats
  • Delete: Delete individual entries or all data
  • Control: Choose what features to use
  • Privacy: Your data stays private to you

Data Export and Deletion

You can export or delete your data at any time:

  • Export journal entries as PDF or text
  • Export mood data and analytics
  • Create full backups
  • Delete all app data through Settings

When you delete the app, all local data is removed from your device.

Children's Privacy

Lumina Journal is not intended for children under 13 years of age. While the app may be suitable for older children, we recommend parental guidance for users under 18.

Parents can feel confident that their children's journal entries remain private and secure on the device, as we do not collect any personal information.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes through:

  • App update notes
  • In-app notifications
  • Update date at the top of this policy
