In-App Help

Inside StipenRx, you'll find:

• Tax home & stipend rules — Settings → Tax & Stipend Info, or tap "Learn More" in the 1-year rule section
• IRS 1-year rule — IRS Publication 463 linked in the app for official IRS guidance
• Manage subscription — Settings → StipenRx Premium (Pro users) → "Open Subscription Settings"
• Restore purchases — Paywall or Settings → StipenRx Premium → Restore

Subscriptions & Billing

StipenRx Pro subscriptions are handled by Apple. For billing, refunds, cancellation, or restore issues:

• Use "Report a Problem" in your Apple subscription history
• Contact Apple Support for purchase-related help

We cannot process refunds directly — Apple handles all billing. Restore purchases if you reinstalled the app or switched devices.

Frequently Asked Questions

General

What is the IRS 1-year rule?
If you spend too many days in one location (typically 300+ in a tax year), the IRS may question whether you have a tax home. StipenRx tracks days per location and alerts you. See Settings → Tax & Stipend Info for details.

Is my data stored in the cloud?
No. Your data is stored only on your device. We do not have access to it. There is no cloud backup unless you use a future iCloud sync feature.

Can I use StipenRx on multiple devices?
Currently, data is device-specific. Future iCloud sync would allow sharing across your Apple devices.

Pro & Limits

What's the difference between Free and Pro?
Free: 3 assignments max, basic PDF export (Assignment, Pay Calc). Pro: unlimited assignments, payday & 1-year rule notifications, all PDF exports (Annual Tax, 1-Year Report, Deductions, Calendar).

I hit the 3-assignment limit. How do I upgrade?
Settings → StipenRx Premium, or tap "Upgrade" when adding a 4th contract.

Technical

Why don't my notifications work?
Notifications are a Pro feature. Enable them in Settings → Notifications. Ensure notifications are allowed in iOS Settings → StipenRx → Notifications. Check that you're signed into the same Apple ID used for purchase.

The app crashes or won't load.
Try force-quitting and reopening. Ensure you're on iOS 17 or later. If the issue persists, contact us with your device model and iOS version.

Widget shows "Add a contract."
The widget displays data from your most recent active assignment. Add at least one contract and ensure it has valid dates.
